It Starts With You: Healing the Relationship You Have With Yourself
We spend so much of life focused on others—how to love them better, forgive them quicker, serve them more sincerely.
But how often do we pause and ask:
“What kind of relationship do I have with myself?”
For many of us, it’s strained. We speak to ourselves in harsh tones. We carry silent shame, replay old mistakes, and measure our worth by the standards of others. But healing—real, lasting healing—starts with how you see yourself.
At Life Coach Deeza, we believe self-compassion is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Because when you make peace within, everything around you begins to shift.
You Are a Creation of Dignity and Honor
Before the world named you “not enough,” Allah already called you noble.
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam...”
— Surah Al-Isra (17:70)
You were created in honor, not shame. When your self-talk becomes a source of criticism instead of compassion, you are working against the truth of your design.
Healing starts when you stop seeing yourself as broken—and start seeing yourself as worthy of love, care, and divine mercy.
The Prophet ﷺ Modeled Gentle Self-Awareness
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a model of humility and self-accountability—but never self-loathing. He taught us to reflect, to seek forgiveness, to grow—not to hate ourselves.
He said:
“None of you should say, ‘My soul has become evil,’ but he should say, ‘My soul has become remiss.’”
— (Sahih Muslim)
This subtle but powerful shift in language shows us: Islam is a religion of redemption, not self-condemnation.
Why Your Inner Relationship Matters
🌿 It sets the tone for how you let others treat you.
🌿 It shapes the courage with which you pursue your purpose.
🌿 It influences how deeply you connect with Allah.
When you reject yourself, it becomes hard to fully accept the love and mercy Allah offers. But when you begin to heal that inner connection, every other relationship flourishes—including your relationship with your Lord.
Practical Steps to Begin Healing the Relationship With Yourself
🌺Start with istighfar and intention. Ask Allah to cleanse your heart of harshness—especially toward yourself.
🌼Speak to yourself kindly. Would you speak to a friend the way you speak to your soul?
🌸Journal your wounds and your wins. See both with mercy.
Remember: You are allowed to begin again. Over and over.
Say this du’a:
“O Allah, help me see myself the way You see me, with compassion and hope.”
You Can’t Pour From a Soul You’ve Forgotten
So many are trying to love others while silently neglecting themselves. But the best love starts from within. And in Islam, your soul is an amanah—a sacred trust.
“And in the earth are signs for those who have faith with certainty. And in your own selves. Will you not then reflect?”
— Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:20–21)
You are one of the most powerful signs of Allah. Reflect inward, and begin your healing there.
In Summary…
You can’t fix everything around you until you tend to what’s within you.
You are not too far gone. You are not too damaged.
You are a soul worthy of healing, and it starts with you.
At Life Coach Deeza, we walk with you as you rebuild trust in yourself—with tools from faith, therapy, and self-awareness. Your healing is not a selfish act. It’s sacred.
